Release Notes: HybridForms App Version 8.5 (May 2021)

We are constantly working on the further development of HybridForms, the integration of new features and the optimization of modules. Feedback from our customers and partners is very important to us, as are requirements from workshops with users from different industries and use cases. With version 8.5, there are therefore again a number of new functions – especially for universal enterprise-wide use.

The HybridForms App now regularly checks whether changes have been made to the form templates or catalogs (data sources) in the admin portal of HybridForms. When you open a form overview page in the App and there are changes to it, the following notice appears in a pop-up window:
»The form definition or catalog data have changed. Do you want to update them?«
As soon as you confirm this with »Okay«, the corresponding form definitions or data catalogs are automatically updated. This optimized synchronization actively alerts you to changes that the administrator has made to templates – a feature that is especially important if the App remains active for a long time and is not closed.

With the extended map function, you can integrate maps from several map providers or even several instances from the same provider into your forms – like below, for example, two different views from ESRI. Administrators can define these settings themselves and manage the corresponding keys in the admin interface.

If a form is available in multiple languages, a corresponding icon automatically appears in the lower App bar, allowing you to easily and directly switch between the individual language versions. The form is then called up in the selected language, and controls such as time or date fields are also displayed in the language-specific format.
The last language selected is also saved as the default value – this means that when you switch to a different device (for example, from a smartphone in the field to a laptop in the office), the forms automatically appear in this language when you open the App.

With the update of the optional scan module, a new AI engine is now available – and with it even better results when recognizing and reading data from ID cards, meter readings, license plates, etc.

In addition to the classic login with user name and password, there is now also the possibility to verify the identity of users through the company-wide integration of the login to HybridForms via Custom Bearer Tokens. For example, you can use your keycard to authenticate once at a terminal (single sign-on), and then – without further login – use the HybridForms Client App for a specific time window to access your forms applications.
Another feature specifically for enterprise use is MDM key support. The devices are registered via Mobile Device Management (MDM) and centrally configured and updated – the key for activating the App is provided directly.

With the new version 8.5, HybridForms also provides a number of enhancements and optimizations for the definition of signature fields, conditions, media picker and geo-location. For solution partners and customers who implement form templates themselves, we are happy to offer online meetings and training sessions on this topic.
