Secure and reliable data acquisition
Scans are possible in almost all light and weather conditions. You can scan ID cards and license plates in bright sunshine, but also at night.

You can also scan data from ID cards, identity cards, car license plates. These are then automatically displayed as form data. With the integration of plugins especially for text recognition, the OCR function is available directly in the HybridForms App on tablets and smartphones. This gives you an extended range of input options – the scan function with OCR ideally complements mobile data capture with keyboard, stylus and touch.

With the integrated text recognition, individual character groups, defined character patterns, but also entire units such as the EU identity card, passport or residence permit and vehicle license plates can be read in at once. The data is then automatically assigned to the corresponding form fields in HybridForms and displayed there – for example, first name, last name, gender, date of birth, nationality or validity in the case of ID cards.

Since Version 9.5 (March 2024), a new scan module has been available for the HybridForms App – in collaboration with Regula, one of the leading providers of scanning and verification solutions for ID and identity documents (such as passports, ID cards, driving licenses). The integration of Regula’s Document Reader SDK ensures matching with an international database – the database contains around 13,000 ID card templates from more than 240 countries. This scan module is an optional module for HybridForms for iOS and Android, for which one-off integration and ongoing operating costs, depending on the number of users, are required.

The scan functions can be easily adapted in the HybridForms App according to your scenario, even with integrated database queries. Possible use cases are, for example:

Wienerberger AG – the world’s largest producer of bricks and leading manufacturer of clay roof tiles and concrete blocks – equipped its local sales team with iPhones/iPads and the HybridForms App for an international trade fair. This was an absolute novelty, because up to then all inquiries were collected with manually filled out trade fair reports on paper and then subsequently transferred to the internal CRM system.

With HybridForms, it was now possible to scan the QR code on the day tickets of registered visitors with one click and automatically prefill the individual form fields with the contact data. This made the work of the staff at the booth much easier: Not only did this give them significantly more time for qualified discussions with prospective buyers, but the error rate was zero, since no more typing errors could occur during entry.

And another advantage: all contacts and leads recorded with HybridForms were continuously matched with the company-wide Customer Relationship System – this gave the central marketing department immediate and direct access to all data for further processing.
