Protected kiosk mode for self-service applications

With the kiosk mode, HybridForms extends the application possibilities for digital forms, mobile checklists and personalized questionnaires. Only limited functions are available in this special view and the display is dynamically adapted. It is ideal for self-service applications using mobile tablets such as medical patient education, individual customer surveys or public terminals.

Kiosk mode with dynamic view and limited functions

Each form can be set to protected mode via the special »Kiosk« button. For an external user, only selected information and input fields are visible, while certain actions are not available at all. The external user can then enter all data on the tablet within a defined period of time (ex: 30 minutes), read accompanying information, fill in checklists and confirm with a handwritten signature.

  • Business Professionals can switch to protected kiosk mode via button/click
  • Dynamic view of information for external users
  • Limited selection of functions
  • Self Service: read, fill in, sign

Live application at Spital STS AG

Spital STS AG was one of the first customers in Switzerland to implement the newly available HybridForms kiosk mode for patient education prior to gastroscopy examinations. In addition to medical information, the kiosk mode also displays a short video about gastroscopy in general and a checklist with questions about previous illnesses, allergies and painkillers.

The advantage of the protected kiosk mode is that patients can read the information provided on the tablet at their leisure and without any time pressure, and enter additional data independently. As soon as the attending physician deactivates the protected kiosk mode on the tablet using the PIN code, the view changes automatically. Other areas, such as the declaration of consent with the signature fields for patient and doctor, are only available in the normal expanded form view.
