Not a glimpse into the future, but modern work in practice today: The integration of mobile Augmented Reality (AR) enables a spatial interactive user experience when digitally recording and documenting operations with the HybridForms App. The overlay of 3D models and real objects immediately shows deviations and defects during service appointments and inspection processes – AR visualization allows decisions to be made even faster and better.
HybridForms creates innovation: Mobile Augmented Reality can now be optionally integrated into all forms and checklists with HybridForms. The 3D function is called up via a button in the form (deep link), the AR recording creates a spatial recording of the environment, the camera image of your end device is overlaid with positionally accurate digital information.
The documentation of the as-is state with the HybridForms App through photos, sketches, voice memos and location info is now supplemented by another forward-looking function through the integration of mobile Augmented Reality.
Inspection processes in field service with photo documentation & mobile AR
Regular service assignments and maintenance work on structures, plants and objects ensure quality and safety. These processes must be well planned, data must be documented securely, decisions must be made in a well-founded manner, and results must be made available to all those involved without delay for further processing or evaluations. The HybridForms App supports teams in this throughout the entire process and at every work step – for example, when inspecting tunnels in traffic infrastructure. The checklists can be dynamically pre-filled (such as from an Asset Management System), and the employees then record the inspection data on site on tablets or smartphones (also offline).
In addition to extensive photo documentation, spatial 3D documentation can now also be integrated into the forms. The AR function is started directly via a button in the HybridForms App – with 3D mesh capture and 3D photos as well as including recording of exact motion paths and viewing angles. The photos taken during a 3D-assisted walk-through are transferred to HybridForms with 3D model reference and can be widely edited and annotated there. This means that this data is also directly available for reports, export as PDF and for filing.
During a later control inspection – for example after maintenance measures have been carried out – starting from HybridForms a spatial guidance and direction can be used as navigation between the recorded defect. In doing so, the 3D model, captured media, photos and locations, and associated data become usable in HybridForms as collected and linked data. The 3D model/reference and the additional descriptions, classifications, catalog assignments, and other data captured in HybridForms create a comprehensive picture that allows for more than the sum of the individual data. All of this data collected with HybridForms can also be archived for future use.
Seamless integration of 3D models / Augmented Reality media
Digital form processes with integrated mobile Augmented Reality – direct added value for various industries
With the integration of mobile Augmented Reality into the HybridForms App, you use the full potential of digital possibilities and enable exciting innovation as well as new experiences in daily work. Possible usage scenarios are for example:
Mobile Augmented Reality – your benefits at a glance
Extension of documentation by three-dimensional models (»digital twins«) in addition to the previous 2D media such as photos, sketches, maps.
Creation of 3D meshes of objects with a high level of detail and realism for helpful additional information (only possible with AR-enabled tablets and smartphones).
Spatial recording of inspections with movement paths, position of location, angle of view, perspective for meaningful target/actual comparisons.
