Release Notes: HybridForms Version 9.5 (March 2024)

The new version 9.5 for HybridForms is now available in the App stores for Android, iOS and Windows – with new functions and optimizations in the areas of synchronization, conflict avoidance and acceleration. We are also making the new server version and sideload versions for Android and Windows available immediately. Basically, version 9.4 and the new version 9.5 have been tested for mixed operation.

New and enhanced features in Version 9.5

Callback in listings for dynamic enrichment

The list callback function can now be used to change and manipulate list items on the listing page depending on various properties of the specific form. In the example below, all forms with status Stage 2 (ST2) are highlighted in color for the display of the listing on the dashboard.
Advantages: Listings can be dynamically enriched depending on certain properties of the form.

Use: For developers of form templates.

Scrolling when tab menus are too long

When designing form pages, the basic rule is that tab menus should be short and concise so that users can quickly grasp the content and jump to the relevant areas. However, if longer tab menus are necessary, the new scrolling function automatically displays scroll arrows that can be used to scroll left and right.
Advantages: No content is cut off, scrolling always provides a complete view.

Use: For all users.

Conditions for media functions

Conditions are used to dynamically display or hide form elements (pages, tabs, blocks) based on defined rules (IF–THEN). With version 9.5, conditions can now also be applied to media functions (such as photos, sketches, maps, voice memos, file attachments, AR). A typical use case is a stage-dependent condition – in stage 1, for example, images can be added, in stage 2 these images are then only available to the user as a read-only view.
Advantages: The display and use of media functions can be designed even more flexibly.

Use: For developers of form templates.

Rich text editor for multi-line text fields

As of version 9.5, a rich text editor can now be activated for each textarea element in the form template. The following formatting options are then available to users: bold, italic, underlined, strikethrough, font color, text highlight color and the delete text formatting function.
Advantages: Users can format the entered content in multi-line text fields, the use of the editor is intuitive and corresponds to standard word processing programs.

Use: For developers of form templates.

Scans of identity cards with Regula Forensics

Scanning ID cards, passports, driving licenses and other identity documents is an important function when recording personal data, which saves a lot of time and avoids input errors. In cooperation with Regula, one of the leading providers of scanning and verification solutions for ID and identity documents for public authorities and organizations with safety tasks, we have made a new scanning module available for the HybridForms App. The integration of Regula’s Document Reader SDK ensures matching with an international database – the database contains around 13,000 ID card templates from more than 240 countries.
This scan module is an optional module for HybridForms for iOS and Android, for which one-off integration and ongoing operating costs, depending on the number of users, are required.
Advantages: Scanning ID cards provides even more reliable and accurate results for document authentication and identity verification.

Use: For all users.
