Release Notes: HybridForms App Version 8.8 (March 2022)

As of now, an update of the mobile HybridForms App to Version 8.8 is available in the App stores for Android, iOS and Windows. The further development of features is important to us, as is the optimization of usability. Our customers and partners constantly provide feedback and send suggestions for new features – we are happy to include these in discussions with our product management.

This means that some enhancements that are planned and implemented for specific customer projects are then available as a product feature for all users. You benefit from a future-proof and cross-platform forms solution with regular updates, which is in daily practical use at large companies and public authorities and is reliably further developed.

New functions for mobile forms & checklists

Photo documentation: Serial capture

Documenting the actual state of an issue with photos – there are countless use cases where images taken on site play an important role in digital data capture and documentation. With Version 8.8, the camera function that allows you to take photos with your mobile device directly in the HybridForms App has now been expanded to include another function: serial capture. This allows you to take a series of pictures faster and easier – without having to call up the camera function each time for the next photo.

Use: For all HybridForms users.

Signature field: Corporate stamp

The certificate-free biometric electronic signature is one of the most important and widely used features of HybridForms. You can use it to obtain handwritten signatures from employees or customers on common tablets and smartphones – either with an associated pen or simply written with a finger. With Version 8.8, it is now also possible to combine the signature field with the image of a company stamp.

Use: For applications where legally binding confirmation of captured data is particularly important.

Drawing function: Dimension arrows & dashed lines

The drawing function of HybridForms, which allows you to create sketches & annotations on images or even quick technical drawings in the App, has been enhanced with two more elements: dimension arrows with a text field for entering dimensions and dashed line style.

Use: Ideal for anyone who wants to clearly document factual situations using annotations and drawings.

Further optimization of deep linking

Deep links are now available in an optimized version on all platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Web). This allows not only to jump to specific pages of the HybridForms App or targeted forms, but also to automatically connect to a server url (on initial startup) and perform an automatic login via authorization tokens. The latter was already possible before, but only if there was no active login in the App at the time the authorization deep link was called. The advantage: The App now also allows user changes with authorization links.

Use: This extension is especially interesting for administrators & developers of form templates.

Integration of Microsoft Teams

Making phone calls with Microsoft Teams – many companies and organizations already use this solution for communication between internal employees and externally with customers. To make work in the field even easier and more efficient, calls via Teams can be integrated directly into checklists and forms via a dedicated button.

Use: For all users in sales or service.

Mobile Augmented Reality

We continue to work on the seamless integration of 3D models / augmented reality media. Using the deep linking function, 3D documentation with REXdoc3d from Robotic Eyes can now be started directly in the HybridForms App.

Use: For all users who need a visual representation of target/actual comparisons of buildings, plants or critical infrastructure.
