Release Notes: HybridForms Version 9 (December 2022)
With HybridForms Version 9, a major release is now available as an update for the mobile client App (Android, iOS and Windows), the Progressive Web App (PWA) and for the HybridForms Core Server. There are many new functions and optimizations – also concerning communication, synchronization, conflict avoidance and acceleration.
New and advanced functions
Integrated route calculation for Google Maps
New and extended routing functions in the Google Maps integration. When you call up the map function with Google Maps in the HybridForms App, a route planner is now also available by default. This allows you to calculate and optimize the travel time to a service call or customer appointment directly in the form.
Use: For all users in the field who regularly plan optimized travel times to operations and assignments.
Switch system during running application without logging off
Quickly switch between several systems in the App for large installations if the user has more than one authorization. This allows you to change systems without having to log off and log on again in between. This makes it easier to work across many form processes. You will find this function at the top left of the header bar and in the settings under »Current User«.
Use: Ideal for all users who are authorized for several systems on one server.

Extensions to the ReachOut Server
Introducing web forms for the HybridForms ReachOut Server. With ReachOut, you integrate form submissions via web browsers for anonymous forms or pre-filled forms via secure e-mail link into your applications – with full integration into the multi-stage HybridForms Stages workflow for further processing by internal users.
Use: For self-service portals and kiosk systems with secure integration of one-time or occasional external guest users.
Extension of conditions in forms
Improved support for smart forms with nested conditions and visibilities. This allows you to implement complex conditions depending on certain conditions in a form field or a form page. Form contents are dynamically displayed or hidden based on defined rules (IF–THEN).
Use: For complex forms with nested conditions that are linked to and/or conditions of fields or pages.
Optimization of accessibility
Optimization of accessibility according to BITV 2.0 (German Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology) for the use of the HybridForms App and forms – barrier-free design and accessibility such as navigation and operation via keyboard or reading aloud via screen reader.
Use: For all users.
Automated translation keys for multilingual forms
Enhanced translation workflow support for multilingual forms. This tool for the automated creation of translation keys greatly simplifies the processing of forms in multiple language versions – including export function for form developers, easy editing and distribution as Microsoft Excel files.
Use: Ideal for international companies and large organizations working with multilingual forms and checklists.
Excel Template Exporter
Introduction of an Excel generator with Excel templates and Excel files generated in the workflow with field contents from HybridForms forms. This easily editable report system outputs fully editable Excel files as a result, which you can then send by e-mail, for example.
Use: For all business users who then further edit or evaluate form data – captured with the HybridForms App – in Microsoft Excel.
Framework for creating responsive e-mails
Introduction of a responsive e-mail framework for advanced HTML and text versions. This tool enables the design of responsive mail messages that are sent via HybridForms workflow – with the integration of logos, image elements and text formatting (such as font style bold, italic or even font colors). The content of these e-mails adapts flexibly to the respective screen size of the end devices.
Use: For all form developers who design responsive e-mails for workflow notifications.
Advanced scanning function for ID cards etc.
Advanced support as well as dynamic functions and post-processing when scanning single and double-sided ID cards.
Use: For all form designers who want to integrate intelligent scanning functions into their applications.
Lazy loading
Optimized adaptive loading behavior for large forms. Advantages: Accelerated opening of the form, performance improvement for large checklists and forms. This function can be activated for individual form templates via a flag in the HybridForms Admin App.
Use: For all users with administration rights.

Extensions to HybridForms Core Server
Updates and enhancements to HybridForms Core Server for SQL.
- Stages and Workflow Editor: Graphical Stages Workflow Editor for the interactive customization of workflows as an additional function besides manual coding
- Infrastructure: Migration of the infrastructure to the new .NET Runtime Environment 6
- Server API: Updates in the HybridForms API for the integration of third-party systems with extended, dynamically generated meta-information
Use: For all users with administration rights.
New online documentation for form development
Newly designed and expanded portal for professional developers of HybridForms forms and processes. With detailed documentation, form API, server API, HybridForms Designer manual, information on TypeScript support, SASS support and mjml support and much more.
Use: For professional form developers.
